| Aufgabe | Hallo,
ein Freund von mir möchte sich in Dubai als receptio/guest-serice employee bewerben.. doch sein englisch ist etwas eingerostet währe lieb wenn ihr das einmal korrigieren könntet..

with reference to our telephone call of May 8th, 2007 regarding a hotel opening in Dubai-City I would like to apply to you for an employment as an reception/guest-service employee preferably.
This year in April I finished my education as an expert in Hotel business in Portugal. Via the German- Portuguese chamber of commerce and industry (IHK / AHK) i complete the theoretic part of this education.
During my education in this 5 stars luxury resort at the Algarve I was employed flexibly in all areas of the hotel. I could specifically use my strengths like team ability, flexibility, engagement and dynamics service-oriented in the departments reception/guest-service and marketing.
By the work in an international team I could intensify my knowledge of English and consolidate my Portuguese.
I would be pleased to enrich your new team as a motivated and resilient employee and look forward to hearing from you soon.

(?*?) Statt "this 5 stars luxury resort" würde ich eher schreiben: "in (Hotelname), a five star luxary resort at the Algarve,..."
(?**?) "area" meint "Bereich" eher im räumlichen Sinn... du meinst wohl eher "Arbeitsbereiche".

Hi,
muss das nicht heißen "I am looking forward to hear from you" und nicht hearing from you?
to geht doch immer mit dem Infinitiv?

Aloha hé Kroni,
nein, "I'm looking forward to hearing from you..." ist vollkommen in Ordnung und sprachlich üblich.
Erklärung: "to look forward to smth." ist das Verb. Das zweite "to" erfordert im Englischen ein sog. "Gerundium". Das "Gerundium" von "to hear" ist "hearing". :)
So wie du es geschrieben hast, geht es natürlich auch, klingt aber für mein Verständnis recht "deutsch".

okay, das wusste ich (noch) nicht, mein Englisch ist irgendwie noch nicht so gut, muss da mal nachm Abi was dran tun=)
