1) We have to answer the policeman's questions.

2) We are answering his questions right now
-We were answerede his questions right then.
3) They write to me every week.
- They wrote to me every week.
4)While a taxi is driving from the station to the airport, suddenly an accident happens.
-While a taxi drove from the staition to the airport, suddenly an accident happened.
5)The boys are playing tennis at the moment
- The boys were playing tennis at that moment.
6) He never speaks to his colleagues.
-He never spoke to his collegues.

Das Original bedeutet übersetzt "Wir müssen die Fragen des Polizisten beantworten."
Dein Satz lautet "Wir hatten die Fragen des Polizisten beantwortet."
Das "have to" im Original ist eine andere Form von "must", also dem deutschen "müssen".
Willst du dieses in die Vergangenheit übertragen, bildest du "einfach" die Vergangenheitsform von "to have", also:
"We had to answer the policeman's questions."

> -We were answerede his questions right then.
Hier hast du dich ein klein wenig vertan. Die von dir verwendete Form "we were answerede" gibt es so nicht - das würde "wir wurden beantwortet" heißen (vorausgesetzt, du lässt das letzte "e" weg, also "we were answered").
Willst du die Verlaufsform beibehalten, musst du lediglich die Form von "to be", die hier quasi als "Hilfsverb" dient, in die Vergangenheit setzen, also:
"We were answering his questions...".

Hier kannst du die "Rahmendauer" des Fahrens noch mehr betonen, indem du sagst:
"While a taxi was driving from the station...".
Damit rückst du noch mehr den plötzlich unterbrechenden Charakter des Unfalls in den Vordergrund.
Die zweite Satzhälfte ist korrekt.

Kann man so stehen lassen, würde ich sagen. :)

Wenn du den werten Kollegen noch ein zusätzliches "a" spendierst, bin ich auch damit einverstanden.
