Wollte gern wissen ob ich das so morgen abgeben. Es geht um die fortschrittliche Technik die uns Probleme bereiten kann...
Whos Boss?
Since a couple of weeks we are dealing with the topic what will happen with technology in the future. I read two articles about this topic. The first one From Calculator to Typewriter by Douglas Adams seemed to me not even funny. There were some funny and ironic aspects for instance the line 30 The world wide web (the only thing I know of whose shortened from www takes three times longer to say than what its short for). Basically I didnt grasp many of them. I guess Douglas Adams seems to be a strange author and has his own humor. I noticed that when I was watching the movie The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Many people went out of the cinema because they didnt recognize the jokes and humor of the british writer. The other article Remote control by Dave Barry was much funnier than Adams. It was a hilarious article and the jokes were just funny even if you dont speak much englisch. It was certainly an ironic article about a serious topic. There was for example line 9-10 where he said I frankly wonder whether the appliance manufacturers, with all due respect, have been smoking crack. or in line 22-23 there was a terrific joke We already have a foolproof system for determining if were out of milk: We ask our wife. And he is also doing jokes by exaggerations like in line 62-65 To disable the Produce Crispness Monitoring feature, enter the Command Mode, then select the Edit function, then select Change Vegetable Defaults, then assume that Train A leaves Chicago traveling westbound at 47 mph, while Train B
).
In fact Dave Barry argues with the topic much better than Adams does. Remote control is critical, funny and it forces to think about the extent of sophisticated technology. From Calculator to Typewriter by Douglas Adams just dont get the point. It is not as funny as jokes are supposed to be and dont contain the interesting problem will be the machine a threat? In the beginning I thought it is a curriculum vitae of the computer. Nevertheless both articles describe how senseless some inventions are and show the fact new inventions make humankind lazy.
I totally agree if Dave Barry and Douglas Adams say we all get dumber and lazy with the new technology. But I dont think we will get the szenario as it is shown in movies such as The Matrix or Terminator. I think it is much more possible that the movie Idiocracy comes true. The movie is a comedy and shows the mankind gets extremely dumb and lazy in 500 years. The people arent able to talk right and just think about eating and sleeping. They are using symbols instead of words. I know it is just a comedy but the pictures in this movie might become true and we are supposed to prevent this.

Ich wäre sehr dankbar wenn mir jemand sagen kann was ich berichtigen soll (wahrscheinlich viel)...
